Line 6 Spider IV 120 120-watt 2x10 Modeling Guitar Amplifier Review!
In short I tried one of these Line 6 Spider IV 120 Amps out and ended up purchasing it! Is there a stronger endorsement of a product than that?
Why did I buy it? The tone is authentic and absolutely stellar! 120 Watts driving two Celestion Speakers fed by amp tones modeled from 16 different amps channeled into 300 presets including Creed, AC/DC, Slipknot, Tom Petty and all points in between appears to be a recipe for amazing rock sounds and that's exactly what you get. Plus you can tweak the presets to create your own tones.
The Line 6 Spider IV has plenty of tone control and effects knobs to make about any rock, country, blues or metal tone you need. I'm not going to get into all that but details on the factory specs and such are to be found by clicking through on the pic below.
I tried it out in a local store at a time I needed an amp for an upcoming classic rock session I was producing & playing on. It took ten minutes to convince me this amp would fit the bill and then some.
Look, I well know how guitarists agonize over these decisions...if you need a great little rock amp that's easy to carry around (under 50 lbs.!) and sounds fantastic just buy the dang thing!
