Taylor Swift TS-BT Baby Taylor Acoustic
Dreadnought Guitar Review!
The Taylor company is a high-end instrument manufacturer, I've never heard or played a bad one. And the construction materials on the Taylor Swift TS-BT are decent quality, producing a warm, beautiful, crystal clear, well rounded tone. The vine rosette around the soundhole gives the guitar the distinctive, Taylor Swift look.
I tried fingerpicking the Taylor Swift TS-BT and also tested it for both rhythm and lead work. In all instances, the tone and playability of the guitar was very good, much better than the guitar I learned to play on.
This guitar is aimed at the Taylor Swift fan, the beginner interested in learning to play because of their affinity for Taylor Swift but it's still a good quality guitar and suitable for the purpose
Just about every full time studio guitarist in Nashville I've worked with uses a Taylor for acoustic guitar session work, it's a guitar company known for high quality and great sound...
On a personal note, perhaps to get a little vindication even if I have to do it myself, lol... (If you don't live here just skip this part.)
A few years ago I was rehearsing a local show at S.I.R. in Nashville and remarked to Travis Tritt's drummer, also playing on the same show, that (then newly signed artist) Taylor Swift, was rehearsing with her band in the next room. My comment was overheard and was met with laughter dished out with the reply, "Her career will be over before Travis cuts his next CD". But I'd heard her material and commented, "Don't be surprised if she's bigger than Travis ever hoped to be," More laughter. I felt a bit embarrassed, but didn't back down.
And that's far from the only similar incident over the last couple years. Certain music industry people in Nashville seem to have a chip
on their shoulder for Taylor, how she got her record deal being part of it, I'm sure. But anytime anyone dissed her I'd simply reiterate my firm belief:
"Regardless of how she did it initially, at some point very early in the process she hit a huge nerve with the public. Obviously her fans love her and love what she does, and I say more power to her! And in regards to her Dad "buying her way in to the music industry" it's nothing sinister or "wrong" or "unjust to the hardworking talent that never gets their break" unless perhaps you buy into the convoluted thinking that life's supposed to be fair and one person finding their dream takes someone else's slot away....yeah, right.
Taylor getting her deal was a negative? Not hardly, it's a love story! If I had a beautiful daughter with talent like that and the money to do it I'd dang sure do the same thing in a heartbeat! What Dad who loves their daughter doesn't help them out the best way they know how? Plus, her father's a good businessman and wasn't that one excellent investment?"
Let me say this as clearly and pointedly as it can possibly be said: Anyone who doesn't get that should take a couple spoons and go pound them on plastic buckets for tips on the corner of Broadway and 8th Avenue, they sure shouldn't be in the music business!
I hear Travis is near bankruptcy, couldn't even pay his band for a while and Taylor Swift made like $42 million dollars last year. Hmm...he who laughs last laughs the loudest or something like that...and Taylor is laughing all the way to the bank. Heck, she probably owns it.
As far as the guitar: if you read this far, you're interested...it's a great guitar for the money and Taylor Swift is a fantastic role model for your daughter, buy it!
